In the corner niche cut into the grey sandstone above the restaurant is the imposing and majestic statue of King GAMBRINUS.<\/p>\n<p>According to legend, he lived at the time of Charlemagne and invented the art of brewing beer. The Maison Katz was acquired by Sagel (Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;Economie Mixte Locale d&rsquo;Am\u00e9nagement et de Gestion pour le D\u00e9veloppement Economique de la R\u00e9gion Ludovicienne) in <strong>2002<\/strong> at an auction with the aim of rehabilitating it as a hotel restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>The establishment was taken over in <strong>2010<\/strong> and major work was undertaken to raise the hotel to the level of a four-star hotel.<\/p>\n<p>After the creation of 17 new rooms, a SPA, a bar and a bistro-restaurant on the corner of Rue Lectoure and Avenue de B\u00e2le,<\/p>\n<p>Hotel LA VILLA K opens its doors in June 2011.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/flzn:zn_text --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La Maison Katz &#8211;
